At the business end of the hooks are rubber-coated grips for extra security. At the other end are a pair of rugged plastic wheels, just like those found on a purpose-made roof ladder. These allow the ladder to be easily rolled up the roof into position from below, without risking damage to any of the tiles or other coverings, then turned over to engage the hooks.
